Renovation & Refurbishment
|
In 2004 this Grade II listed, 4 storey town house had rotten floors, a leaking roof, no central heating, rotting windows and was basically uninhabitable.
Issues The property's parapet wall was damaged, the stone above the windows was chipped, the window frames were rotting, and the 'ashlar' walling was dirty.
Summerbee's Solutions To bring this home back to life Summerbee builders constructed and installed new timber-framed, sash style, double-glazed windows, sympathetic to the style of the property. By repairing the chipped stone around the windows, installing a new double glazed door and patio entrance alongside the pressure cleaned ashlar frontage and refurbished front steps we brought the front of the home back to it's former glory. To complement the refurbished wooden frame, and new front door we installed exterior lighting which really adds to the character of the property.

A new basement floor was dug out to add additional habitable space during the renovation. New flagstone flooring and exposed & pointed brickwork perfectly complement the personal double glazed french door entrance.

 |
Before The back of the property was equally run down. A useless 'lean to' was the only rear access.

After Currently the Basement is a seperate flat, and earning an income, this can be restored to a single house at any time. The roof is renovated with Velux roof lights to add natural light. The kitchen now has access to the garden.
